Merchant Center FAQs
1) How can I submit my products to TheFind?
Great news! TheFind has launched a feed upload tool through the Merchant Center and now accepts direct feeds from merchants.
What does this mean for you?
- Greater control over product information on TheFind (ability to set up notifications to primary email address, letting you know when the feed is live)
- Faster updates (initial feed can go live within 72 hours)
- Increase product relevancy through our new, expanded attributes, as seen in our NEW data feed specs.
In order to use our product feed tool, please create an account in the Merchant Center and claim it (see question 3).
If you cannot create or maintain a feed, you can submit your store to TheFind’s crawl. More info on this in FAQ Question 10.
2) How long will it take for my products to go live on TheFind.com?
The answer differs depending on whether your product information comes from a product feed or our crawl of your site.
Merchant Feed: The initial feed will take approximately 72 hours (3 days) to process and go live on the site. Afterward, feed updates should go live within 48 hours.
Crawl: After submitting your site to our crawl, it can take up to several weeks for your products to be listed on the site.
3) How do I set up my account?
It’s easy! Simply follow these three steps:
- Create an account in our new merchant center: https://merchant.thefind.com/.
- Tell us more about your store by filling out the profile questions. This information will appear on our site with your product listings.
- Claim your store by placing the code of the button, badge or link that you would like to display on your homepage and then clicking on verify. Shoppers will be able to click on the UpFront badge on your site and see a pop-up with the same information that appears on TheFind.
4) How do I claim my store?
There are currently two ways to verify your store and complete the signup process:
- Become an Upfront merchant (see question 7 on benefits to this program)
- Adding a blank .HTML file to the root site directory
After completing the first two steps of the signup process you should be able to log into your merchant center account. Select the store you want to verify and click on Upfront Badges & Links on the upper left hand side. From here you can choose your desired verification method and Upfront badge.
Please do not edit or alter the code provided for Upfront/verification in any way as this may prevent proper verification.
5) What if I create multiple accounts? Can I claim my store again?
No, currently each store can only be claimed once in TheFind Merchant Center. Please do not re-register and attempt to claim your store again – this can lead to miscommunications, including failed attempts to join the UpFront Program or otherwise verify duplicate stores.
If you have forgotten your password, please reset it via the login at https://merchant.thefind.com/mc/login.fhtml.
If you need to reclaim your store for another reason (the email for the account is no longer valid, the site has changed ownership, etc.), please email us at merchantsupport {at} thefind [dot] com.
6) What if I’m a Marketplace seller?
In order to claim a store through TheFind Merchant Center, you must have your own site. If you are solely a marketplace seller, you will not be able to successfully register and claim your store.
Some marketplaces, such as Etsy and eBay, send us feeds directly, so in those cases you’re covered – no need to sign up with us directly.
If you are part of a marketplace that we do not currently work with, please feel free to email and let us know!
7) Why should I join the Upfront program?
As an Upfront merchant, not only do you receive access to the feed tools and features in the Merchant Center, you are also giving your store an advantage on TheFind. Because Upfront merchants provide a more robust shopping experience, our algorithm gives Upfront merchants increased visibility on our site.
8.) I’m having trouble verifying my store, help!
Try these troubleshooting tips first—
HTML Method:
- Please check that the HTML root file is completely blank—it cannot contain any spaces, tabs, characters, etc. or the system will not be able to successfully verify you.
Upfront Store Badge/Icon:
- Did you copy and paste the code exactly as it was provided to you in the Merchant Center? Do not edit the code, as this may prevent successful verification by the system.
- Is the code embedded in the frameset of the site? If so, try removing the frameset and then verifying.
- Did you place the badge on a page that redirects? If you have the badge at http://www.yourstore.com/storefront it is a redirect.
- Did you place the badge on your homepage? http://www.yourstore.com is an example of a homepage, free of redirects. The badge code must be placed on the homepage, free of additional directory notes.
If you need additional assistance, reach out to merchantsupport {at} TheFind {dot} com.
9.) I’ve claimed my store—how do I submit my product feed?
There are three (3) ways to deliver your product feed to us directly:
- TheFind FTP: Once verified, you can set up your FTP credentials through the Merchant Center and send files using an FTP client.
- TheFind’s Web Upload Tool: You can send us a file right away through the web upload form in the Merchant Center; this is a one-time form and so needs to be manually updated on your end when there are product updates.
- Scheduled Download from Your URL: You can specify a feed URL that we should download your feed from, and even set a schedule for the frequency of our downloading (daily, weekly, etc).
10) How long does it take for additional store info/features to reflect on the site?
This will depend on the feature. In general:
Logo: For the initial upload of a logo, it can take up to 7 days for it to process and push live onto the site. Afterward, it should take about 48 hours for updated logos to be reflected on the site.
Shipping: Initially 7 days, and afterward can be updated within 48 hours
Coupons: Initially 7 days, and afterward can be updated within 48-72 hours
Tax: 7 days for both initial and future updates
11) I’m an Upfront merchant but I don’t see my security certifications reflected on my badge yet—why?
Upfront merchants who have the Upfront badge or text link correctly adopted on their home page have the added benefit of seeing their certification seals appear on their store info if we are partnering with that seal provider (McAfee, BBB, etc.).
The verification and addition of partner seals and certificates to your badge is not a feature merchants can edit via the Merchant Center; we work with our partners to validate this information prior to including it in your Upfront badge. As a result, inclusion time can vary.
Here is a list of such seals and certifications:
BBB
AmazonWebstore
eBay Prostore
Yahoo! Store
BillMeLater
TrustGuard
McAfee
SSL
BuySafe
12) My products are being crawled by TheFind, but not all of my products are showing up. How do I fix this?
While our crawl is fairly comprehensive, it will at times be unable to pick up all of your product information. As a free service provided to merchants, there is limited support available.
If you would like to improve your product coverage on our site, submit a product feed to us (see previous FAQs).
If you need further assistance after reading this FAQ, please reach out to merchantsupport [at] thefind [dot] com.
Images are not showing up? Our feed is submitted daily from SingleFeed, We have no problem with Google Merchant. What is the Problem with our Images????
Hi Jeremy,
You guys are a yahoo store, and yahoo keeps on changing their image urls for some reason or the other! But I see that you’re submitting a direct feed now, which keeps the image urls updated, and so the correct ones show up now.

Hi I have account in thefind.com and product show in thefind US site already, how I can make the product can show in thefind.com.UK ? Thanks Raymond
If you are a UK merchant, and your site is selling products in pounds/euros, then you can mark the country as United Kingdom while registering that domain on thefind merchant center.
